Why is Failure so Interesting?

At a talk I gave to 20 children at my old Secondary School, now known as King Edward Humanities College I was surprised to find that the majority of the questions revolved around what I failed in.

Perhpas it was because I encouraged them to think about failure as a good thing, that way we know we are stretching ourselves & can learn something - always playing safe just isn't the same...

But perhaps it is because we are usually reluctant to talk about our failures, hiding these behind our successes. Which may seem all well & good, but it doesn't encourage others who stumble along the way to keep going.

So give failure a big thumbs up - I certainly will be introducing more details of my own failures in future talks.
